Blueberries

the pick your own experience

What to Expect…

Delicious berries!

A gentle pause from the pace of everyday life.

Family friendly activity & atmosphere.

    • There are nine varieties of high bush blueberry plants that grow to an average height of 6 feet tall.  Most of the picking will be at the chest / head level for adults. Farm staff will work to assist families with small children and others to find lower growing fruit to help make this a great experience.

    • Bloom - That’s the white, powdery coloration you may find on berries. This is a natural preservative and the way the plant protects the berry from loss of moisture and helps to ward off pests and bacteria. Bloom means fruit is fresh!

    • The berries are not sprayed and can be tasted and enjoyed right off the bush.

    • Insects may be found on the bushes, within the clusters of fruit and sometimes in the berry. This is the nature of no spray farming for healthy fruit.

    • We tend year round to the perennial blueberry plants without sprays.

    • We manage the farm with natural and regenerative practices that are oriented to be harmonious with the land and the good of our watershed and community.

    • We use OMRI listed products (Organic Materials Review Institute) tending to our land, crops, apiary and vegetables. We use Non-GMO seeds and many of our tomatoes and chilies are from heirloom seeds.

    • We provide buckets for harvesting

    • Visitors will be directed by staff to areas of the patch to have the most successful and enjoyable picking experience

    • After you are finished picking, we will weigh the berries

    • Bring your own containers to take berries home, or we have cardboard berry totes that you may purchase to transport your berries.

Our Blueberry Varieties

We grow nine varieties of northern highbush blueberries. Different varieties ripen at different times, allowing a longer harvest season typically lasting from early June through mid-July. Each variety has differences, such as different plant height or shape and subtle differences in berry flavor, however all varieties are delicious and well suited for fresh eating, freezing, preserving, and cooking.

EARLY SEASON

first weeks in June

Collins - An early season variety with fruits that have a flattened shape with a dark color. Aromatic with a slightly tart taste.
Patriot - An early-season variety that has a sweet yet slightly tart taste. Ideal for fresh consumption and preserving.
Bluetta - Early in the season and produces medium-sized fruits. The fruits are crack-resistant and have good flavor.
Northland - A mid-season variety producing small to medium-sized berries with a robust, wild blueberry flavor.

MID-SEASON

Blue Crop - Mid-season variety bearing large, sweet-tart berries. This variety is the favorite of Hannah and Margaret.
Herbert - The blueberries of this variety are big and have excellent flavor.
Berkeley - A variety known for its large, light blue berries with a mild, sweet flavor.

Late Blue - A late season variety with flavor described as sweet and tart in a medium to large berry.
Gorgeous and peaceful location to pick fresh no-spray blueberries! We came on opening day and there were so many ripe berries on the bushes with plenty more varieties to ripen through the season. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful! Great place to bring the family or have a date night for u-pick blueberries.

Oh my goodness, these blueberries are amazing. So sweet, juicy, easy to pick, and after coming back multiple times, I can safely say they are bug-free! Eating them fresh or frozen is my favorite, but I might save a few for some blueberry pancakes 🤤

The owners here are so kind, very informative and generous with sampling! 🫐
